Easter Services

First United Methodist Church, 52 S. Florida St. in Buckhannon will host Easter services at the following times:

• Palm Sunday Service at 10:40 a.m. Monday

• Maundy/Holy Thursday service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday with Communion.

• Good Friday Service at 7:30 p.m. Friday with the choir presenting “Rose of Calvary.” Childcare will be available in the nursery.

• Easter morning worship service at 10:40 a.m. April 1.

Elkins Community Holy Week Services for 2018 will be held from Monday through Friday at Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church. Services will be begin at noon. Afterward, Church Women United will be serving lunch at 12:30 p.m. for a nominal fee.

Chapel Hill United Methodist Church — Holy Week services

• Maundy Thursday service: A special celebration of Communion will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday in the sanctuary. A table will be set up that depicts the Last Supper. Everyone will be invited to sit at this table in sets of 12 and experience the Last Supper in a very real way, passing the bread and juice.

• Journey to the Stations of the Cross 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Good Friday: The Stations of the Cross will be set up in the upstairs area of Chapel Hill and in the sanctuary. Everyone is welcome to come between the hours mentioned and spend time visiting the places where Jesus spent his last days and hours. Come and let this experience become your spiritual pilgrimage as we remember Jesus Christ and his journey.

• Easter sunrise 7:30 a.m. April 1 at Jawbone Park,

• Easter Morning Service of Celebration, 10:30 a.m. April 1.

The Way of Holiness Church on Route 33 in Buckhannon will present the dramatic musical “Journey to the Cross” at 7 p.m. Thursday through March 31. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Weaver Nazarene Church will host a play titled “The Power of His Resurrection” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and March 31.

Calvary Assembly of God on Route 219 in Valley Head will host a night-time Easter egg hunt at 8 p.m. March 31 for children and youth. Those attending are asked to bring a flashlight.

First Baptist Church of Elkins will host a Resurrection Service from 7 to 7:30 a.m. April 1 at the pavilion at Elkins City Park.

Easter sunrise pageant will begin at 6:54 a.m. April 1 in the orchard at Orchard Hall, beside Elkins High School and Randolph Technical Center. Following the pageant, volunteers will serve a free breakfast in Orchard Hall.

Valley Chapel United Methodist Church will host an Easter sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. April 1 at the church on Becky’s Creek Road, Huttonsville. Breakfast will be served after the service.

Calvary Assembly of God on Route 219 in Valley Head will host an Easter service at 11:45 a.m. April 1. Both adult and children’s services will be offered.
