Carol and Glenn Menear

Carol and Glenn Menear, of Elkins, will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Monday. They were married May 25, 1965, by the Rev. Wendell Roberts at the First Church of Christ on Worth and Main streets in Elkins.

Mrs. Menear is the former Carol Stalnaker, daughter of the late Woodrow W. and Bertha Nelson Stalnaker. Mr. Menear is the son of the late Lloyd F. and Maggie Poling Menear.

Mrs. Menear recently retired from Big Lots in Elkins after 22 years of service. Mr. Menear is retired from Humble Oil and Refining Co. in Washington, D.C.

The couple have two children, Glenn L. Menear Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Great Mills, Md. and Christina Zirbs and husband, Doug, of Elkins.

They also have five grandchildren, Crystal Menear and Dan, Glenn L. Menear III and Brooks, Joseph Menear and Megan, all of Great Mills, Md., and Miracle and Bryon Boltz, of Elkins.

In addition, the couple have seven great-grandchildren, Amya, Kendra, Katelyn, Taylor, Asher, Brayden and Hudson.

A trip to the Great Smokey Mountains is planned to celebrate the special occasion.
