Frances and S. Eldon (Buzz) Harper

Mr. and Mrs. S. Eldon Harper of Parsons celebrated their 50th, “golden” anniversary Oct. 15.

S. Eldon “Buzz” Harper, a Parsons High School graduate, is the son of the late Stelman and Winifred Harper.

Frances Harper, a Parsons High School graduate, is the daughter of the late John and Mary Kee, all of Parsons.

Buzz and Frances were married Friday, Oct. 15, 1965, at First United Methodist Church of Parsons. Buzz is a graduate of Salem College and West Virginia University.

He was a math and science teacher and in administration for years in the Tucker County School

System.

Frances is a West Virginia Wesleyan College and WVU graduate. She taught English and elementary and special education for the Tucker County School System.

They are the proud parents of two sons, John and David; and two daughters-in-law, Sarah and Jessica. They have been blessed with four beautiful grandchildren, Wyatt, Sam, Ruth and Zoe.

Buzz and Frances are both active members of First United Methodist Church of Parsons. Both are members of Eastern Star Chapter 91 and life members of West Virginia 4-H All Stars. Buzz enjoys fishing, farming and is a member of Masonic Lodge 128. Frances is an avid quilter and knitter. They enjoy traveling and WVU football games, but most of all they enjoy their grandchildren.

To celebrate their anniversary, an open house celebration will be hosted from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 8 at Tucker County Senior Center in Parsons. Gifts are to be omitted, only best wishes for the couple.
