ELKINS — On July 22, members of the Elkins High School Class of 1971 gathered at Stuart Park Recreational area to celebrate the 51st class reunion.

More than 60 classmates and friends gathered at the “big pavilion” for a picnic feast catered by Smoke on the Water. The beautiful sunny day in the park provided a warm backdrop for old friends to spend time sharing stories and catching up on life.

The celebration continued Saturday evening with a dinner at the 1863 Appalachian Bistro, catered by Side Tracks Cafe. The delicious food, great service and warm environment contributed to the celebration. Even a city-wide power outage Saturday evening right before the dinner started didn’t dampen the celebration.
