Pierpont culinary arts program is fifth in the nation

FAIRMONT – Pierpont Community & Technical College recently announce that its Culinary Arts Program has been chosen as the fifth-best culinary arts program in the United States by Best Choice Schools.

Best Choice Schools looked at culinary schools across the United States to develop a list of what they believe to be the 50 best culinary schools or programs in the nation. They looked for schools that offer hands-on experience, internship/externship opportunities, student operated restaurants, modern facilities and a solid reputation in the industry. Best Choice Schools only looked at schools that were nationally accredited or accredited by the American Culinary Federation.

“It was incredibly rewarding to be acknowledged as one of the top five culinary schools in the country,” said Brian Floyd, dean of the program. “The Pierpont Culinary Academy works hard to ensure we are providing a quality experience for our students and supplying quality graduates for West Virginia and beyond.”

“When you consider the value our students and graduates receive by attending a program designated as exemplary and nationally accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation, we hope this new distinction will bring more students to take advantage of the great opportunities,” Floyd added.
