TENNERTON — The Fred Brooks Garden Club hosted its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Tennerton United Methodist Church.

The guest speaker for the meeting was Jim Fregonara, wildlife biologist for the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.

Club members were treated to a very informative discussion on birds. Using slides and other visual aids, Fregonara addressed bird habitats, best types of feed for backyard bird feeders, how to identify birds and the migratory patterns of birds.

He presented the club with a birdhouse and a laminated bird poster, both of which will be included in a bird-themed basket the club will be putting together for a fundraiser later in the year.

After the presentation and business meeting part of the evening, refreshments were provided for members.

The hostesses for the event were Sandra McCutcheon and Millie Hornbeck.
