Auxiliary accepting applications for scholarships
BUCKHANNON — St .Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary is accepting applications for scholarships for Upshur County students for the fall academic year.
Scholarships will be awarded to students who are planning on pursuing a career in a medical field. Qualifications for recipients include: residency in Upshur County; high school graduate or equivalent GED; enrollment in a health care career school requiring a license or certificate; and a 3.5 GPA to qualify for consideration. Previous academic achievements, leadership character and financial need are considered.
Funding for the scholarship is made possible by the Auxiliary’s Life and Memorial Members Fund; the gift shop; memorial donations for friends and family; and contributions from the community.
Applications are available at the information desk in the hospital’s main lobby or at the guidance office of Buckhannon-Upshur High School. Applications are due no later than May 1 and should be submitted to the Auxiliary Scholarship Chairman, c/o St. Joseph’s Hospital, One Amalia Drive, Buckhannon, WV 26201 or to the guidance office at Buckhannon-Upshur High School.
