Ware to be TVHS Alumni Banquet speaker


MILL CREEK – Lt. Col. Mike Ware, USAF retired, a 1969 graduate of Tygart Valley High School, will be the guest speaker for the Tygarts Valley High School Homecoming 2018 alumni banquet at 7 p.m. July 7 at the Elks Country Club in Elkins.

Ware is a native of Huttonsville and obtained a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering at West Virginia University and a master’s degree in public administration from Troy State University. He is also a graduate of several professional military schools

Ware is a 21-year veteran of the United States Air Force and completed assignments throughout the U.S. and Europe. He has served as a USAF Command Pilot with thousands of flight hours in the F-15 Eagle fighter and multiple trainer aircraft. He retired from the Air Force in 1995.

Following his Air Force retirement, he joined FedEx and flew as a FedEx pilot for 18 years, retiring in late 2013.

Ware currently serves as a ‘Professional Volunteer’ and volunteers with Missions and Ministries at Collierville United Methodist Church; VA Hospital; Forever Young Senior Veterans; and was awarded the 2016-2017 Ronald McDonald House-Memphis “House Volunteer of the Year”

He is also a published/contributing author to: Chicken Soup For The Soul, Southern Writers’ Magazine “Best of Short Stories” and several anthology books

Currently Ware lives in Collierville, Tennessee and is celebrating 40-plus years of marriage to his wife, Suzanne. They are the parents of three married children and have several grandchildren.
