PHILIPPI — The Blue & Gray Reunion Committee is happy to announce the winners of the annual window decoration contest. This contest is held annually to provide yet another journey into the history of our region during the Civil War era.

The Committee extends its appreciation to all the downtown businesses that participated in the contest this year.

“We hope to see even more businesses decorating their windows next year,” said a Reunion spokesperson. “The decorated windows convey a community wide involvement in this annual weekend event that brings thousands to downtown Philippi.”

The first-place winner was Hope Mission’s Thrift Store with Pastor Howard Swick accepting the winning plaque; the second-place winner was Wanderlust with owner Adam Starks, Emily and Susannah accepting the winning plaque; and the third-place winner was Perfectly Pampered Salon with owner Susan Jones accepting the winning plaque.

Businesses are reminded the 2019 Blue & Gray Reunion will take place May 30-June 2.
