Mayor Inks ‘Take Back the Night’ Proclamation

Submitted photo Women’s Aid in Crisis, Elkins Mayor Van Broughton and the Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney’s office join with numerous other Randolph County agencies to shed light on the serious societal issues of sexual violence and child abuse with a proclamation signing at Elkins City Hall. The Take Back The Night awareness walk and rally will be at 6 p.m. April 24 at Booth Library Community Room. The guest speaker will be author Sorya Chemley, who wrote ‘Rage Becomes Her.’ The second location for Healing Through Music will take place at the Railyard Restaurant on April 30 with music starting at 4:30 p.m. All events are free and open to the public. Awareness month materials will be on display at various locations throughout our area.
