Youth Health partners with Elkins Fordland

ELKINS — Youth Health Service is partnering with Elkins Fordland to help raise money for new substance use curriculum for youth.

A Drive 4 UR Community fundraiser will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 27, during the Ramps and Rail Festival at the Elkins Train Depot. Drive 4 UR Community, a Ford initiative, will donate $20 per test drive to Youth Health Service for a total of up to $6,000. It is a free, no-obligation test drive.

Peggy Johnson, co-executive director at Youth Health Service, explained why these funds are needed. “With more and more youth impacted by substance use themselves or in their families, we want to make sure we are prepared with prevention education and high quality treatment options. Our kids, families and communities are so important and we need to stay current in the most effective ways to provide care,” explained Johnson. “We are very grateful to Elkins Fordland in helping us in these efforts.”

Kid’s activities will also be available during the event as well as a chance to learn more about Youth Health Service and Home Ties Child Development Center.
