Car show, parade will highlight Coalton Days

COALTON — The Coalton Days Celebration is an annual event held to celebrate the heritage and culture of the Town of Coalton and its people. This year marks the 25th anniversary of this event.

On Saturday, June 15, there will be a car show, parade and soap box derby race highlighting the day’s line-up of events.

The Car Show will be held in the Coalton City Park beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday with registration starting at 9 a.m. All makes and models of vehicles are welcome and there is no registration fee. The Grand Feature Parade will step off at 3 p.m.; line-up will begin at 1:30 p.m. Mike Carey, head coach of the West Virginia University women’s basketball team, will be the parade marshal.

Following the parade, Coalton Day’s first annual soap box derby race will take place. This is not an “official” soap box derby race and is for fun and entertainment purposes only.
