Community Yard Sale set Saturday

ELKINS — Bargains will fill the sidewalks of downtown Elkins Saturday during the annual Downtown Yard Sale sponsored by Elkins Main Street.

Downtown businesses and property owners will place tables with sale items on the sidewalks in front of their buildings from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A number of local residents and organizations will also participate in the Yard Sale downtown and in the community.

“The yard sale creates a downtown neighborhood atmosphere where people can enjoy shopping and visiting together,” said Main Street Executive Director Madalyn Humphrey. “Shoppers can enjoy great cuisine from local downtown restaurants, head over to the farmers market behind the Elkins Depot, and shop at the unique local businesses of our downtown.”

The Elkins Community Yard Sale is not limited to store merchandise from businesses but may also include furniture, clothing and household goods.

Artist at work’s Yart Sale will include art supplies, original art, in-store sales, and home goods. As shoppers travel down Davis Avenue and Third Street, they will find several sales hosted by community members as well. Shoppers can enjoy up to 80 percent off Anita Goodesign at the Elkins Sewing Center for their summer attic sale along with deals on patterns and sewing notions.

B&J’s Music and Pawn Shop will fill their sidewalk with deals. Art prints, glazes, books, and office supplies can be found across Randolph Avenue at The Arts Center.

Great finds can also be found throughout the community at the following residential locations: 300 Davis Avenue, 1106 S. Davis Avenue, 1620 S. Davis Avenue, 319 Harpertown Road, 101 13th Street, 120 Sunset Drive, 300 Davis Avenue, 120 Grandview Avenue, 234 Bruce Street, and 80 Pleasant Street.

Planned to take place rain or shine, the Elkins Community Yard Sale is one many events hosted by Elkins Main Street in downtown Elkins.
