Experience Learning announces Spruce Knob Kite Festival

CIRCLEVILLE — Experience Learning, a non-profit organization based in Pendleton County, will host the first annual Spruce Knob Kite Festival on their Spruce Knob Mountain Center campus Saturday from 1-5 p.m.

This festival is free and open to the public. The New Era Kite Club will be conducting kite-flying demonstrations. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own kites to fly. You will also be able to purchase kites on site and kite-making kits will be available for free thanks to sponsors Martin, Beachy, & Arehart, CPA.

In addition to the kite-flying fun, you may come take part in other wind-related games, face painting, and a wind-based scavenger hunt. Snacks will be available for purchase, including maple cotton candy made fresh on-site by Pendleton County’s Cool Hollow Maple Farm.

After the Kite Festival stick around and join us for a Spaghetti Dinner and S’mores feast. Dinner tickets are $12 and include pasta and meatballs, garlic bread, salad, and s’mores around a campfire. Tent camping and dorm beds are available for a small fee.

Additional information, updates, and advance dinner tickets and lodging reservations are available at http://experience-learning.org/kites. For more information call 304-567-2632 with questions. All proceeds from this event will go towards directly supporting THE Mountain Stewards summer camper scholarships.
