Purple Majesties host April luncheon
ELKINS — The Elkins Purple Majesties Red Hats hosted its monthly luncheon July 8 at the Steer Steakhouse in Elkins.
Queen Mother BJ McKenzie presided over the meeting. A huge “thank you” to Duchesses Texie Mallow and Mary Lou Irwin for planning the event, Carole Helmick for helping with check in and Beverly Denison for operating the Red Hat Store. Mallow and Irwin decorated the tables appropriately with a patriotic theme.
The membership booklet will go to the printer in October. Members who have not paid dues for the upcoming year will be deleted from the book. Anyone wishing to pay dues, contact Queen BJ at the number below.
After the blessing, members enjoyed their delicious lunch. The traditional warning was led by Queen Mother McKenzie. Prize tickets were announced and lucky winners were awarded lovely prizes.
The next Purple Majesties luncheon will be Aug. 12 at Lambert’s Winery, 190 Vineyard Drive, Weston. The menu includes meat-lasagna, salad, garlic bread, dessert and beverages. Thanks to Linda Peterson and Patsy Roberts for agreeing to serve as duchesses and plan this upcoming event.
All members are encouraged to attend and new members are always welcome.
If you would like to join this fun loving “nifty after 50” group or make a reservation for the August luncheon, call Queen Mother B.J. McKenzie at 304-614-3079. Reservations need to be made by Aug. 5.
