ELKINS — Debra “Debbie” Dean has joined Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center as the new assistant administrator, bringing over two decades of management experience to the facility.

Dean will oversee four departments – Activities, Dietary, Environmental Services, and Maintenance. She will also serve as the Administrator during any absence of the current Administrator, Tara Shaver.

“Dean brings a wide range of skills and knowledge to our organization,” Shaver said. “Her extensive management experience will be a tremendous asset to ERCC.”

Prior to joining ERCC, Dean was employed at Davis Medical Center where she had served in various capacities since 1992. She holds a master’s degree in Health Care Management from Rutgers University and a Regents Bachelor of Arts from West Virginia University.

Over her decades in the healthcare field, Dean has had multiple oversight responsibilities including preparation of annual budgets and enforcement of departmental policies.

“During her career, Debbie has focused on providing quality care to patients while maintaining fiscal responsibility,” Shaver noted. “More importantly, she brings a level of caring and dedication that meshes perfectly with ERCC’s complete compassionate care.

Dean was enthusiastic about the opportunity to help lead ERCC’s 111-bed, short and long-term skilled and intermediate care and rehabilitation facility.

“ERCC has an exceptional reputation in our area as a quality provider of nursing and rehabilitation services,” Dean said. “I am extremely pleased to join this outstanding team and be a part of the caring and dedicated staff.” Dean began her duties at ERCC on July 8.
