ELKINS — The Friends of the Library, also known as the Elkins Bookhounds, recently donated $1,000 to the library for the acquisition of new books.

The library maintains a list of requested new materials and librarian Stephanie Miller commented that this donation would go a long to filling those requests.

The Friends are a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Library through various fundraising events. They offer a semi-annual used book sale, sponsor the annual Chocolate Friendzy and participate in other events such as Run-For-It in Tucker County. They also volunteer to assist in the various programs and activities at the library.

Miller and Cassel encourage everyone to stop by the library to see all the new acquisitions and the schedule of upcoming events.
