Belington to celebrate successes at Fall Fest

BELINGTON — The city of Belington will celebrate the successes of many citizens, volunteers, civic organizations and businesses that have helped improve the town. Fall Fest, a two-day festival, highlighting the work of many, is scheduled for Sept. 20-21.

A craft show kicks off the event at 8 a.m. Sept. 20. The weekend line-up includes a Friday fun night for youth, games and contests, entertainment, parade and vendors with food. A special display recognizing contributors to Belington’s success and achievements will be set up in the Town Square. A ceremony to honor all that have helped with Belington’s milestones will be held on Saturday.

“There have been so many that have helped Belington improve and succeed. It is humbling and encouraging to review all the accomplishments. Although we can’t possibly recognize all the folks and organizations, Fall Fest is a way to congratulate everyone and encourage more to join the efforts,” Terri Kittle said.

Kittle is senior vice president and CFO at Freedom Bank in Belington and treasurer for the Belington Revitalization Committee.

Fall Fest activities are coordinated by the Belington Revitalization Committee, Belington OnTrac and the city of Belington. Other sponsors include Barbour County Chamber of Commerce, Freedom Bank, Belington Volunteer Fire Department, Bialek Insurance, Tygart River General Store, Shop ‘n Save, Barbour County Relay for Life and Lamarr Weese.
