The Arts Center to offer 18th annual Gala
ELKINS — At 6 p.m. Friday, The Arts Center will offer its 18th annual gala fundraiser.
The theme of this year’s gala is “The Old West.” In addition to being The Arts Center’s largest fundraiser of the year, the gala is also the opening reception for the Gala Jurored Art Exhibit, featuring artists from around the state and beyond.
“This year’s gala is the perfect opportunity for people to get together in a very casual and fun environment to have a good time, network, reconnect with others in the community they haven’t seen for a while, all while having a wonderful meal, experience a world-class art exhibit, enjoy live music, and of course, support The Arts Center,” said The Arts Center’s Executive Director, Kurt Barkley.
“We chose this year’s theme because so many people relate to it, and if offers a casual atmosphere that more people can enjoy. This year, we’re encouraging everyone to dress comfortably, and if they would like to wear their favorite cowboy hat, or western boots, then wear it. We just want people to enjoy the evening.”
Featuring dishes inspired by the old west, and desserts, raffles, and more, The Arts Center’s gala also features The Jesse Milnes Band, playing western swing and other favorites.
“We have several very nice items for our silent auction this year, contributed by artisans from all over the region, and other surprise offerings, and we will do as large a 50/50 drawing as we can,” said Barkley.
Barkley also acknowledged the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center as the gala’s sponsor. “The leadership and board of the ERCC have been generous enough to sponsor several of our galas, and we are extremely grateful for their support of our work and mission.”
