Commission receives funds for ordinance implementation

The Randolph County Commission has received a $10,000 “forgivable loan” for the implementation of its recently passed Unsafe Buildings & Land Ordinance.

Commission President, Mark Scott said the funds will be used to pay for the procurement of a Field Inspector to physically inspect the properties that complaints are received on.

“This forgivable loan can be compared to a grant with no match because, as long as the funds are spent as intended, it will not have to be paid back and the interest rate is 0%” said Scott.

The application was prepared and submitted on behalf of the Randolph County Commission by Peggy Ross in September.
