Tenney to perform at Brown Bag
ELKINS — At noon Wednesday, singer, songwriter, and musician Pete Tenney will perform the Brown Bag Concert at The Arts Center. This event is free and open to the public.
Tenney is a singer/songwriter from West Virginia, a multi-instrumentalist who grew up playing old time and Celtic music. Pete toured internationally in the 70’s with his band ‘Hickory Wind’ until he had children and decided to move back to West Virginia.
He is a virtual collection of folk songs from all around the world that he learned while he was traveling. After touring, he has still been writing original music to this day. As a true Appalachian musician and songwriter, he has a library of traditional folk music and Americana original songs. Pete has been a tremendous influence on other professional musicians, including his family, who all play multiple instruments and also had success pursuing musical careers of their own. He is currently working on an album of some of his favorite songs that he has written though the years.
