Alderson Broaddus to celebrate inaugural First-Generation Student Day
PHILIPPI — Alderson Broaddus University will host its inaugural First-Generation Student Day from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday at Hamer Campus Center. This celebration is part of a nationwide campaign to honor students who are the first in their families to attend college and celebrate the achievements of our first-generation students.
In addition to celebrating first-generation students, this event is intended to bring campus and community awareness to the prevalence of first-generation students currently enrolled in higher education and the exceptional contributions these students are making to society. First-generation college students are an asset to the Alderson Broaddus University community. Alderson Broaddus invites first-generation students to participate in the event and enjoy lunch and fellowship with AB’s first-generation faculty, staff and alumni.
