Elkins City Hall News

This past Thursday, a presentation was made at the City Council meeting showcasing the status of the 2018-2023 Strategic Plan and how Sales Tax revenue has been used to support the plan. This same presentation will be made at two other community organization events in the upcoming weeks and be posted on the city’s social media platforms, all in an effort to keep the public informed and engaged.

Elected and appointed officials continue to rely on the plan as a guide in directing and prioritizing the use of City resources. Next week, this work will continue both through policy and administrative actions.

At 10 a.m. on Monday the Public Safety Committee will convene to discuss a nuisance property as well as hear reports from our safety officials. The following day, council members, the mayor, city attorney and administrative officers will meet for a work session with a West Virginia Attorney regarding potential charter changes. This preliminary meeting will focus on the “how” and “why”, saving the details of “what” for later public discussions. As always, you can stay up to date with city business by following our Facebook page, checking our website, reading the Inter-Mountain or contacting City Hall.
