Tygart Valley Alumni Scholarship fundraiser set

MILL CREEK — The Tygarts Valley Alumni Association in conjunction with Harvey Taylor, auctioneer, and the TVHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes, band and Key Club are currently accepting donations for their scholarship and student programs fundraiser scheduled for Feb. 1 from 6 – 9 p.m. at George Ward Elementary in Mill Creek.

Donations can be monetary, baked goods for the cakewalk, baskets for the basket auction and any other item that can be sold during the auction. Phil Isner of Isner Law office has generously donated a 9mm SCCY pistol to be raffled during the auction.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, band and Key Club members will be hosting a concession stand during the auction. Donations needed for the concession stand include hot dogs/buns, hot dog boats, hot dog chili, nachos, cans of nacho cheese, pepperoni rolls, bagged cookies/brownies, various cans of soda, napkins, and large and small dessert plates.

Donated items can be dropped off at George Ward Elementary on Jan. 31 from 6-9 p.m. Monetary donations can be made out to the TVHS Alumni Association and mailed to Ann Watson Vance, 460 Bradley Rd., Valley Bend, WV 26293. In the memo line please write auction fundraiser.

Tickets for the pistol raffle can be purchased from association board members that include Stan Taylor, Nora Lambert, Ann Vance, Tammy and Clint Hamrick, Ellen Fortney, Lisa Townsend and Tom and Steve Wamsley. The pistol will not be on school property, but the winner will be able to pick up the gun at Wheeler’s Sports in Elkins.
