Elkins Purple Majesties Red Hats host luncheon
ELKINS — The Elkins Purple Majesties Red Hats hosted a monthly luncheon Feb. 10 at Beander’s Restaurant in Elkins
The event was hosted by Duchess Susan Channel. Thank you, Susan, for job well done. After a short business meeting, members prayed The Lord’s Prayer then enjoyed a delicious spaghetti luncheon, complete with chocolate cake with caramel sauce for dessert.
The traditional warning was led by Darlene Murphy. February birthdays were announced and members serenaded birthday Majesties Margaret Carlson, Susan Channell, Carole Helmick, Glenda Lipscomb and Darlene Murphy on their kazoos.
Members played a Valentine’s themed game of unscramble the words; and after a tie-breaker determined Sherri White the winner. Her prize was a white wool infinity scarf. Prize tickets were drawn and members received some beautiful door prizes.
The next Purple Majesties luncheon will be March 9 at Mama Mia’s Restaurant in Elkins. Members can look forward to a delicious menu which includes chicken parmigiana, salad, garlic rolls and beverages with chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Thanks to Duchesses Sherri White, Diane Wade and Lois Matlick for planning the luncheon for March.
