Lions Club members learn more about CLIMB program
ELKINS — Beth Cooper and Bob Sponaugle were guest speakers at a recent Lions Club meeting. They reported on the CLIMB (Connecting Loving Inspiring Mentoring Building Hope) program for Randolph County youth.
The CLIMB program provides mentors to meet with students during school and build relationships through playing games, laughing, talking, reading books and working on projects, The program builds student confidence, develops leadership skills and enhances self-esteem.
Studies show that students with quality mentors are less likely to skip school, use drugs and more likely to attend school and participate in extracurricular activities.
The CLIMB program is looking for new mentors. More information is available at email@example.com.
