Barbour Chamber announces changes in event dates
PHILIPPI — The Barbour County Chamber of Commerce has just announced changes in the status of several of its planned events. Mike Cvechko, chairman of the Elections Committee stated that the anticipated Meet the Candidates Night at Philip Barbour High School, originally planned for April 23, would have to be cancelled. A second Candidates Night, projected for next fall, is expected to go ahead as scheduled.
Dr. Tim Barry, president of the Chamber of Commerce, said that the Chamber’s Annual Banquet, originally set for May 13 at Alderson Broaddus University, would be rescheduled, with the new date to be announced when the pandemic is declared over. Reg Trefethen and Joseph Kaiser III, representing the golf committee, announced that the planned Annual Golf Tournament at the Barbour Country Club on May 2 will most likely go ahead. More information about team registrations and hole sponsorships will be announced at a later time, they said.
