PHILIPPI — Philippi’s volunteer Christmas Committee is seeking applicants for 25 bundles of free Christmas decorations. Interested Philippi residents, those living within the city corporate limits, must submit an application form via email to ACoveredBridgeChristmas.com. The application form is available at the web site www.coveredbridgechristmas.com or on Facebook at the same name.

The first 25 applications received via the email will receive a pre-packaged decorations bundle which includes lights and suitable outdoor Christmas decorations. The Christmas Committee says that everyone receiving one of the decorations bundles must commit to using the decorations at their residences this year and for years to come. Upon receipt, the decorations become the property of the citizens.

All those who are to receive the decorations will have to pick up the items on Nov. 14. Details of the pickup will be given when the applicants are notified by the Committee. Because of the size of some of some of the decorations, a truck will be needed.

The Christmas Committee expects all the decorations bundles to be claimed by the end of the first week in November, particularly since the committee reports that numerous applications have already been received. Residents who receive one of the 25 bundles must commit to having the decorations up by December 1 when the Covered Bridge Christmas Residential Decorating Contest begins.
