EARTH DAY: Celebrate Earth Day today from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Elkins City Park. Enjoy free activities, give-aways, and demonstrations while celebrating Mother Earth and the trees and forests of our beautiful mountain state. Learn why biodiversity is key to survival on planet Earth, and how to help butterflies make a come-back.

HEALING THROUGH MUSIC 2021: The Centers Against Violence will host Healing Through Music, a sexual assault awareness child abuse prevention program, will be Friday at 6 p.m. The free and family-friendly event will be at the Elkins Train Depot. For more information call 304-636-8433.

SPECIAL TOURS: The Beverly Heritage Center will host a special tour of Beverly’s hidden spaces Saturday. Visitors will have a one-of-a-kind experience to see the inside of Beverly’s Civil War amputation site, the 1841 Randolph County Jail and early Civil War graffiti. Tickets are $20 per person. Limit 5 people per group (exceptions may be available by request). Proceeds will be going to fund historic preservation. COVID-19 guidelines must be followed.

RAMP DINNER: The Mt. Liberty Community in Barbour County will be hosting a ramp dinner from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the community building. Meals will be $15 for adults and $8 for children age 12 and younger. The menu includes: ham, fried potatoes with and without ramps, brown or white beans, ramps cooked and raw, cornbread or a roll, homemade applesauce, a desert and drinks. Fresh apple butter will be available for purchase.

FREE MEAL: Summit Church will be serving pasta, soup, salad and bread for free at the Railyard Restaurant on Tuesday, April 27, at 4:30 p.m. Dine-in or carryout will be available. Everyone is welcome.

HOMESTEAD OUTSIDE MARKET/BBQ SANDWICH FUNDRAISER: Will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 1 at the Homestead Community and Event Center in Dailey. Market opens at 9 a.m. and BBQ lunch, drive-thru/curbside pickup will be at 11 a.m. Chili dogs, sodas, and baked goods also available for purchase. BEVERLY SCHOOL ALUMNI BANQUET: The 87th Beverly School Alumni Banquet will be Saturday, May 29, at the Western Steer Steakhouse in Elkins. Registration will be at 5:30 p.m. CDC guidelines including masks and social distancing are required. Everyone who attended Beverly School is invited to attend. AL-ANON MEETING: Support group for families of alcoholics and drug addiction meets 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church.
