INSIDE YARD SALE: The Mt. Carmel Baptist Church will host an inside yard sale 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Fellowship Hall near the Randolph County 4-H Camp in Beverly. After 1 p.m. on Saturday, customers can fill a plastic bag for $5, some items may be excluded including clothes and stuffed animals. The kitchen will also be open service hot dogs, baked goods, drinks and more. All proceeds are to benefit the church’s ladies missionary group annual goals and masks are required.
ARBOR DAY: The City of Elkins Tree Board and the Emma Scott Garden Club will be celebrating Arbor Day this Friday, with two tree plantings at city parks in Elkins. The Emma Scott Garden Club will be planting a tree at the Davis Street Park, located one block off Randolph Ave., at noon. The Tree Board will have its event at Glendale Park near the newly established Outdoor Education Groves beginning at 2 p.m.
HOMESTEAD OUTSIDE MARKET/BBQ SANDWICH FUNDRAISER: Will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Homestead Community and Event Center in Dailey. Market opens at 9 a.m. and BBQ lunch, drive-thru/curbside pickup will be at 11 a.m. Chili dogs, sodas, and baked goods also available for purchase. Rent space available for setting up for craft, vendor, yard sale or flea market sales. MUSIC AND CRAFTS: On Saturday, May 1, 12:30-3:30 p.m. at West Virginia Heritage Crafts off of Exit 115 I-79. Enjoy music by the Barbershop Bluegrass Band while the children create a make-and-take craft. Call 304-622-3304 for additional information.
BEVERLY SCHOOL ALUMNI BANQUET: The 87th Beverly School Alumni Banquet will be Saturday, May 29, at the Western Steer Steakhouse in Elkins. Registration will be at 5:30 p.m. CDC guidelines including masks and social distancing are required. Everyone who attended Beverly School is invited to attend. AL-ANON MEETING: Support group for families of alcoholics and drug addiction meets 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church.
