EDITOR’S NOTE: The Datebook is reserved for nonprofit, civic organizations. Unless otherwise noted, events listed should be considered free and open to the public. Because of numerous entries, items may appear for only one week. Entries appear in chronological order and as there is space. The deadline for submissions is 4 p.m.

BOOKMOBILE: The Beverly Bookmobile Used Book Sale will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Beverly Elementary School Gym.

SUMMER PICNIC SOIREE: Join us Saturday at the Beverly Heritage Center for the group’s annual fundraiser. Social hour at 6 p.m. with music from Duo Acoustica. Dinner at 7 p.m. with grilled beef tenderloin and elegant picnic-inspired sides. Proceeds will go to fund improvements at the Beverly Heritage Center. HOMESTEAD HOT DOG SALE/SUMMER MARKET: A drive-thru hot dog sale is being held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Homestead Community and Event Center in Dailey. The brown bag lunch special consists of two hot dogs with chili/onions, chips, dessert and bottled water. Vendor registration for the outside buy/sale/trade market is still open. Contact Carol at 304-637-4577 to register. The event is sponsored by the Tygart Valley Homestead Association with proceeds supporting the Homestead Community and Event Center. Other scheduled summer hot dog sales and market days are July 10, Aug.14 and Sept. 11.

FARM BUREAU: The Randolph County Farm Bureau will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Camp Pioneer. The farm bureau will provide meat and guests are asked to bring a covered dish. Everyone is welcome. For more information call 304-338-6010.

WALKING TOUR: On Saturday, June 19, at 1 p.m., the Beverly Heritage Center will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for their new exhibit “Historic Women of Randolph County” which explores women’s suffrage and prohibition, followed by a Women of Beverly Walking Tour.

MEAT SHOOT: The VFW Post 5781 will host a meat shoot June 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the post home in Harman. Refreshments will be provided. The next shoot will be July 18. For information contact Danie Ours at 304-227-4349.

FLEA MARKET AND CHICKEN BURN: The Harman Presbyterian Church will host a flea market and chicken burn from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 19. The dinner will consist of a half chicken, roll and drink and will be available after 11 a.m. The famous dunking booth will be making a return visit. ELKINS COMMUNITY CAKEWALKS: Elkins Community Cakewalks will be the first and third Fridays in June, July and August from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Citizens Bank of West Virginia’s customer parking lot. Food, prizes and entertainment. All proceeds will benefit several nonprofit organizations in the area. Donations of cakes are welcome. For more information call 304 637 2235.

AL-ANON MEETING: Support group for families of alcoholics and drug addiction meets 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church.

MEMBERS EXHIBIT: The Arts Center’s Members’ Exhibit is on display through July 26, 2021. This exhibit is free and open to the public, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday, and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday. The exhibit features art by Arts Center Members.
