HOT DOG AND YARD SALE: Whitmer Church of God will host a hot dog and yard sale from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. today.

FAMILY CAMPOUT: The Mountaineer Chapter of the IWLA will host a family campout on today at the clubhouse, approximately 6 miles up Files Creek Road in Beverly. Everyone is welcome. Tent setup is from 4-6 p.m. with campfire food beginning at 6 p.m. There will be fun, games, fishing and friendship. Breakfast will be at 8 a.m. on Sunday. No cell phones, campers or hand held electronics are allowed except for medical reasons. Restrooms and a pavilion will be provided. All children must be accompanied bu an adult/guardian at all times. Campers are asked to bring flashlights, camping equipment and proper clothing. If you have any outdoor games or campfire sticks you’d like to share, please do. MEAT SHOOT: VFW Post 5781 will host a meat shoot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the post home in Harman. Refreshments will be provided. The next shoot will be held on Aug. 21. For information contact Danie Ours at 304-227-4349.

PURSE AND PRIMITIVE PRIZE BASKET BINGO: The Strutters Baton and Dance Team will host a purse and primitive prize basket bingo beginning at 1 p.m. today at the Junior Town Hall. HOMECOMING: Blue Rocks Church will host homecoming Sunday. Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m. and a covered dish dinner at church pavilion will follow at noon. Afternoon service with Pastor Scott Spotloe will be at 1:30 p.m.

SERVICES: Elkins Lodge No. 108 AF & AM will conduct graveside services for Butch Adams at 2 p.m. at The Mountain State Memorial Gardens Sunday. Lodge will open at the Wees Masonic Temple at 1 p.m. All Master Masons are urged to attend.

HOMECOMING: The Arden Church will hold its annual Homecoming on Sunday. Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m., followed by worship service at 11 a.m. and a covered dish dinner beginning at 12:30 p.m. A program featuring special singing by Jeff Frey will start at approximately 1:30 p.m. All are invited to attend.

DEGREE WORK: Elkins Lodge No. 108 AF & AM will conduct degree work Monday, July 19, at The Wees Masonic Temple at 7:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.. All Master Masons are urged to attend.

USED BOOK SALE: The Elkins Bookhounds, Friends of the Elkins- Randolph County Public Library will hold a used book sale July 23 – July 24 at the Elkins YMCA at 400 Davis Ave., next to the library. Hours for the sale are from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday. Come and pick up some great reading material for a donation and join the Elkins Bookhounds. Membership and renewal forms are available at the sale or in the library. Beginning on July 1, donations of gently used books in good condition may be dropped off at The Elkins/ Randolph County Public Library. No dated material such as textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines or damaged books will be accepted for the sale.

INDOOR YARD SALE: An indoor yard sale nice with air conditioned ground floor entry at Elkins VFW social hall will be July 24 10-5 tables are $20 each and area. PICKIN’ IN THE PARK: Pickin’ in the Park will take place each week at Elkins City Park on Wednesday nights co-sponsored by the Augusta Heritage Center and Elkins Parks & Recreation. The country music jam Sessions take place from 5-7 p.m. or later in the Small Pavilion. The old-time music jam sessions are in the raised Sycamore Street Pavilion from 7-9 p.m. or later. All acoustic instruments are welcome, as well as singers, dancers and listeners.
