EDITOR’S NOTE: The Datebook is reserved for nonprofit, civic organizations. Unless otherwise noted, events listed should be considered free and open to the public. Because of numerous entries, items may appear for only one week. Entries appear in chronological order and as there is space. The deadline for submissions is 4 p.m.

CRAFT SALE: The Orlena United Methodist Church will host a craft sale 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. There will be soups, hot dogs and sandwiches available for purchase.

CRAFT SHOW & BAZAAR: The Elkins Christian Academy in Glenmore will host a craft show and bazaar 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. Crafters and Vendors from all over West Virginia will be in attendance. There will have a bake sale and hot dogs with homemade chili will be for purchase. There will be a silent auction with beautiful theme baskets and hundreds of donated items just in time for Christmas.

ARTIST MARKET: The Arts Center annual Artists Market will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today There will be ceramics, ornaments, art, prints, and other handmade items by over a dozen local artisans.

CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON AND SALE: The annual Beverly Presbyterian Church Christmas Luncheon will be today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The homemade lunch, $7, includes soup, sandwich, drink, and dessert. Other items for sale will be delicious baked goods, canned goods, and our popular homemade Christmas Cookie Trays. Seating will be limited but take-out is available This event is part of the annual Old Fashioned Beverly Christmas.

CHRISTMAS DINNER BASKETS: American Legion Post 29 will be accepting applications for Christmas dinner baskets, for Randolph County residents only, on the following dates and times Dec. 6 through Dec. 10 between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proof of your physical residency, ID, and all forms of income you receive is required. Applications must be filled out in the office and cannot leave the building. Applications do not guarantee you will be chosen to receive a dinner, and preference will be given to military families. Baskets will be given out Dec. 18. Letters to recipients will be mailed out beginning Dec. 13. Fore more information call 636-3930.

LIVING NATIVITY: Calvary Assembly of God on Route 219 in Valley Head will have a Live Nativity outside the main entrance of the church on Sunday at 6 p.m. All are welcome.

MONDAY MANNA SUPPERS: will be offered by First United Methodist Church from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, 13 and 20 at 315 Kerens Ave. in Elkins. Meals will be served inside. Please enter through the front door.

FULL BOARD MEETING: The Region VI Workforce Development Full Board will meet Thursday, Dec. 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the Marion County Convention & Visitors Bureau located in Pleasant Valley. For more information about the meeting, contact Maria Larry at 304-368-9530.

RANDOLPH COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF RETIRED SCHOOL PERSONNEL: The December meeting of The Randolph County Association of Retired School Personnel will meet Friday, Dec.10 at 12:30 p.m. at the Steer Steakhouse in Elkins. HOLIDAY PET ADOPTION EVENT: The Randolph County Humane Society will host a holiday pet adoption event on Saturday, Dec. 11, and Sunday. Dec. 12, from noon to 3 p.m. Anumals will be available for adoption. The Humane Society is also in need of dog and cat food as well as cat and dog toys, blankets and towels. CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY: The American Legion Post 29 Auxiliary will be hosting a Children’s Christmas Party on Dec. 11 from 1- 4 p.m. for children ages 11 years and under. There will be snacks, crafts and, of course, Santa.

COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS CANTATA: The Asbury Untied Methodist Church will host a community Christmas Cantata 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at 134 S. Beverly Pike in Belington. A candlelight service will conclude the evening and refreshments will follow in the fellowship hall.

RANDOLPH COUNTY FARM BUREAU: will hold a Christmas dinner at 6 p.m. Dec. 14 at Camp Pioneer. The camp will provide meat and drinks. Please bring a covered dish. There will be a demonstration of the West Virginia Farm Bureau Quiz Book. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call 304-338-6010.

BROWN BAG CONCERT: The Arts Center will host a Brown Bag Concert noon Wednesday, Dec.15. Singer and pianist Raymond Godwin will perform and his show will feature many of your favorite Christmas songs, and quite possibly an appearance by Santa Claus himself. This event is free and open to the public.

OUR TOWN INC.: is in need of artificial pine trees to be used for the 2022 decorating project. The trees need to be green and not pre-lit. The donated trees can be placed on the front porch of the Delmote on either side of the front door. Please make sure when dropping off the trees they don’t block the entrance. AL-ANON: Meets at the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church every Wednesday from 7-8 p.m.

SUPPORT GROUP: The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) of West Virginia is hosting a support group for veterans with depression and bipolar disorder on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Elkins VFW from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. For more information contact John Riley at 304-376-3213 or email at siuwvuman@aol.com.
