BUCKWHEAT BREAKFAST: at the Harman School will be Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. The menu consists of buckwheat cakes, pancakes, sausage, sausage gravy, eggs, juice or milk or coffee. There is a cost for the breakfast. Children 5 and under will be admitted free. A bake sale will also take place. All proceeds will benefit the Dry Fork Recreation Center.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR: The annual Joy Circle Gifts Galore Christmas Bazaar will be held in the Fellowship Hall of Otterbein United Methodist Church on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Otterbein UM Church is located at 1100 South Davis Ave., Elkins. The Bazaar will feature a cookie walk, baked goods, craft items and a white elephant sale. Proceeds will benefit missions for women and children.

WEDNESDAY PICKIN’: The Augusta Heritage Center’s weekly Jam Sessions will take place weekly in the new Augusta Center Music and Dance Hall located on Davis Avenue. The sessions are free and open to all. Country Jams start at 4 p.m. followed by Old-Time Jams from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. For more information, call 304-642-2369.

FREE THANKSGIVING DINNER: at the Tucker County Senior Center on Thursday, Nov. 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be eat-in. pick-up and delivery and everyone is welcome. For additional information call Carroll Precht at 304 478-4018.

ANNUAL HUNTER’S DINNER: at Valley Head Community Center on Monday, Nov. 25, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit Christmas for Valley Head kids.

CHRISTMAS DINNER BASKETS: American Legion Post 29 will be accepting applications for Christmas dinner baskets, for Randolph County residents only, on the following dates/times: Monday, Dec. 2 through Friday, Dec. 6, between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proof of your physical residency, ID, and all forms of income you receive is required. Applications must be filled out in the office and cannot leave the building. Applications do not guarantee you will be chosen to receive a dinner. Baskets will be given out Dec. 14 from 8 a.m. to noon. Letters to recipients will be mailed out beginning Dec. 9. If you do receive a letter from us, you must bring your letter, envelope and ID with you on pick-up day. Donations of canned goods, other non-perishable food items, and monetary donations can be dropped off at the Post and are greatly appreciated.

DINNER/DANCE: sponsored by the Elkins Council 603 Knights of Columbus will be Friday, Dec. 6 at Orchard Hall from 7 to 10 p.m. There will be $2,500 in prizes given away. To order tickets or for more information, please call 304-636-3235 and leave a message

CRAFT SALE: The annual Orlena Global Methodist Church Craft Sale will be held on Dec. 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Crafts and baked good will be up for sale at the event. RANDOLPH COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL EMPLOYEES: will meet Friday, Dec. 6 at the Randolph Technical Center and Elkins High School. The EHS choir will perform at noon in the auditorium and the meal will be served after at the Tech Center. There is a cost for the meal. Bring items for the Scholarship Auction. A NIGHT IN BETHLEHEM: First Baptist Church of Elkins presents “A Night in Bethlehem” on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 4-7 p.m. Visit the shops of the outdoor Marketplace, stop by the nativity, speak to the Wise Men, feed the animals and enjoy hot cocoa and cookies in an evening of fun at 412 Randolph Avenue in Elkins. CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY: American Legion Post 29 Auxiliary and Legion Riders will be hosting a children’s Christmas party on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 1 to 4 p.m. for children ages 12 years and under. FUNDRAISER: at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 302 First Street in Elkins, on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Baked goods, homemade soups and hot dogs will be available for carry-out or eat-in. Crafts and a country store will be available also. Proceeds will benefit Lutheran Disaster Relief.
