WEDNESDAY PICKIN’: The Augusta Heritage Center’s weekly Jam Sessions will not take place this week today (Nov. 27) due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. The Jam Sessions will return and continue on Wednesday Dec. 4 in the new Augusta Music and Dance Hall located on Davis Avenue. Country Music Jams are from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Old Time Music Jams are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more information call 304-642-2369.

ANNUAL HUNTER’S DINNER: at Valley Head Community Center on Monday, Nov. 25, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit Christmas for Valley Head kids.
CHRISTMAS DINNER BASKETS: American Legion Post 29 will be accepting applications for Christmas dinner baskets, for Randolph County residents only, on the following dates/times: Monday, Dec. 2 through Friday, Dec. 6, between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proof of your physical residency, ID, and all forms of income you receive is required. Applications must be filled out in the office and cannot leave the building. Applications do not guarantee you will be chosen to receive a dinner. Baskets will be given out Dec. 14 from 8 a.m. to noon. Letters to recipients will be mailed out beginning Dec. 9. If you do receive a letter from us, you must bring your letter, envelope and ID with you on pick-up day. Donations of canned goods, other non-perishable food items, and monetary donations can be dropped off at the Post and are greatly appreciated.
CHRISTMAS AT THE KUMP HOUSE: Tuesdays and Thursdays, Dec. 3-19 from 4-7 p.m., and Saturdays, Dec. 21 and 28, from 1-4 p.m. Tour the 1925 historic home of Gov. Kump decorated for the holidays! The Open House features a model train display, snowman wonderland, light refreshments, and benefits the Kump Education Center. 401 Randolph Ave. (across from Kroger).
