FREE SOUP MEAL: The Calvary Assembly of God Outreach Center will host a free soup meal from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. today.

CHRISTMAS DINNER BASKETS: American Legion Post 29 will be accepting applications for Christmas dinner baskets, for Randolph County residents only, on the following dates/times: Monday, Dec. 2 through Friday, Dec. 6, between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proof of your physical residency, ID, and all forms of income you receive is required. Applications must be filled out in the office and cannot leave the building. Applications do not guarantee you will be chosen to receive a dinner. Baskets will be given out Dec. 14 from 8 a.m. to noon. Letters to recipients will be mailed out beginning Dec. 9. If you do receive a letter from us, you must bring your letter, envelope and ID with you on pick-up day. Donations of canned goods, other non-perishable food items, and monetary donations can be dropped off at the Post and are greatly appreciated.

CHRISTMAS AT THE KUMP HOUSE: Tuesdays and Thursdays, Dec. 3-19 from 4-7 p.m., and Saturdays, Dec. 21 and 28, from 1-4 p.m. Tour the 1925 historic home of Gov. Kump decorated for the holidays! The Open House features a model train display, snowman wonderland, light refreshments, and benefits the Kump Education Center. 401 Randolph Ave. (across from Kroger). EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING:The Randolph County Democratic Executive Committee will meet Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. at the Kump Education Center at 401 Randolph Ave. in Elkins. WEDNESDAY PICKIN’: The Augusta Heritage Center’s weekly Jam Sessions will take place weekly in the new Augusta Center Music and Dance Hall located on Davis Avenue. The sessions are free and open to all. Country Music Jams are from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by Old-Time Music Jams from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, call 304-642-2369.

CRAFT SALE: The annual Orlena Global Methodist Church Craft Sale will be held on Dec. 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Crafts and baked good will be up for sale at the event. A NIGHT IN BETHLEHEM: First Baptist Church of Elkins presents “A Night in Bethlehem” on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 4-7 p.m. Visit the shops of the outdoor Marketplace, stop by the nativity, speak to the Wise Men, feed the animals and enjoy hot cocoa and cookies in an evening of fun at 412 Randolph Avenue in Elkins. CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY: American Legion Post 29 Auxiliary and Legion Riders will be hosting a children’s Christmas party on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 1 to 4 p.m. for children ages 12 years and under. CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: will be on display Dec. 7, 14 and 21 at Boyer Station Campground and other businesses around the area which have set up different light displays, which you can enjoy right from your car. Donations are appreciated. The location is 1 Railroad Ave., Arbovale.

CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON AND COOKIES IN BEVERLY: The annual Beverly Presbyterian Church Christmas Luncheon will be Saturday, Dec. 7th, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The homemade lunch, $10, includes soup, sandwich, drink and dessert. Other items for sale will be delicious baked goods, jams, pickles and the popular homemade Christmas Cookie Trays. This event is part of the annual ‘Old Fashioned Beverly Christmas.’ Come enjoy lunch and a day of fun activities in Beverly!

ELKINS PURPLE MAJESTIES: Elkins Purple Majesties (Red Hats) will meet Monday, Dec. 9 at 11:30 a.m. at the Steer Steakhouse for our annual Christmas luncheon. All members and guests are welcome. RANDOLPH COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF RETIRED SCHOOL EMPLOYEES: will meet Friday, Dec. 13, at the Randolph Technical Center and Elkins High. The EHS choir will perform at noon in the auditorium and the meal will follow at the Tech Center, Bring items for the scholarship auction. There is a cost for attendance.
