ELKINS — Davis & Elkins College proudly hosts the second annual Night to Shine Event on Saturday, March 15 from 5-7 p.m. in the Myles Center for the Arts. This event, open to the greater Elkins community and surrounding areas, aims to provide an elegant experience on the College’s campus.

“Night to Shine is an unforgettable experience, where the joy and excitement in the air makes every second amazing,” says Miss Elkins Area 2024 Kyleigh Kenner. “It is truly a beautiful evening filled with smiles, laughter, and dancing, creating memories that will last a lifetime.”

Parents, guardians, and family members are encouraged to attend the evening’s festivities catered toward those within the special needs community. Refreshments will be served throughout the evening.

“Night to Shine is a great eyeopener to the wonders of a tight-knit community,” says Student Government Association President Sidney Megna. “The beauty in the collaboration from volunteer hair stylists to students volunteering to attend the event is truly something special. I hope this tradition continues, and I am grateful to be a part of such a fun opportunity to give back!”

The Student Government Association and members of the student body of the College further support the continuation of this year’s event by contributing to the setup and tear down of all decorations.

“Davis & Elkins College students are leaders with big hearts,” says D&E President Chris A. Wood. “The ‘Night to Shine’ event, planned by the College’s Student Government, welcomes very special guests to the campus to provide a wonderful combination of interaction, support and fun.

“The students with special needs in attendance provide insight and understanding to D&E students, and likewise the college students become new friends through their personal interactions with their honored guests. The College is very pleased to host this event for the second year of what we hope is many more to come.”
