POLLINATOR GARDEN PLANTING: Appalachian Forest National Heritage Area is seeking volunteers to help replant the pollinator garden at Glendale Park today. ALLEGHENY REGIONAL FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY: will host a regular meeting today at 7 p.m. in the library at the IOOF building located along the Beverly Five-lane. Those interested in genealogy are encouraged to attend and become a member of ARFHS. Any questions, call 304-636-8528 or 304-636-8528.

BROWN BAG CONCERT: will be offered free at The Arts Center on April 16 from 12-1 p.m. Whistlers Children is a recorder trio featuring soprano, alto and bass recorders. Performers include: Katy McClane on soprano, Mary Smakula on alto and Craig Stihler on bass recorder. Found Harmony will be featured in the second half of the program. This duet features Richard McClane on vocals, guitar and fiddle and Katy McClane on flute and vocals. Bring a lunch and friends.

WEDNESDAY PICKIN’: The weekly Wednesday jam sessions, sponsored by Augusta, are now taking place next-door at Armadillo Flats on Davis Avenue in Elkins. Country Music Jams are from 4:30-6:30 p.m., and Old-Time Jams are from 6:30-8:30 p.m. All levels are welcome, as well as singers and listeners. Look for entry signage (enter from C.J. EASTER PARTY: American Legion Post 29 will be hosting a Children’s Easter Party on Friday, April 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Calain Hall (upstairs, 4th street entrance). Ages 12 and under. Easter egg hunt, prizes, snacks and the Easter Bunny will be present for pictures. For more information call, 304-636-3930.

CHILDREN’S EASTER PROGRAM: at the Whitmer Community Church will be Friday, April 18 at 7 p.m. 

GOSPEL SING: at Christ’s Church in Horner with the Tribute Quartet on April 19 at 6 p.m. with Pastors Rick and Brenda Wyatt. There will be a love offering received. Everyone welcome. For more information, call 304-613-9207.

EASTER EVENTS: Calvary Assembly of God will host an Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. April 19. They will host a Resurrection Service at 10:45 a.m. on April 20.

FUNDRAISER: for Rick and Nancy Bennett, who are experiencing a health crisis, will be Saturday, April 19 at the Beverly Volunteer Fire Department at 4 p.m. The event will feature a Cake Walk, 50/50, Auction, Silent Auction, raffles and concessions. BUCKWHEAT/PANCAKE BREAKFAST: Randolph Lodge IOOF will host a sourdough buckwheat breakfast at the Lodge Hall on the Beverly Five-Lane on Saturday, April 19 from 7 a.m. until noon. The menu will include sourdough buckwheat cakes, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, milk, coffee or orange juice. Take-out orders will be available. 

ANNUAL PICKENS RAMP SUPPER: The Ramp supper will be held on Saturday, April 19 at the American Legion Hall in Pickens. Serving time is 2 to 7 p.m. The menu includes ramps, ham, fried potatoes, brown beans, cole slaw, applesauce, corn bread, dessert and drinks. Sponsored by the Pickens Post 122 American Legion.  All proceeds will be used to update and maintain our Legion Hall. Everyone is welcome. For further information, call 304-924-5813.

SUNRISE EASTER SERVICE: Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday, April 20 at 6:45 a.m at Glendale Park, Elkins by Pastor Dan Ludwick and the Elkins Church of the Brethern. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

OLD TIME MUSIC: Join in the first and third Mondays, 7-9 p.m. at The Arts Center in Elkins for an Old Time Music Session. Beginning musicians are encouraged to join in. Fiddle, Mandolin, Guitar, Banjo, Dulcimer, Bass are welcome. Participants enter through the back door. For more information, contact dp-foot@hotmail.com. 

FREE MONTHLY TREE TALKS: at the Kump Education Center. The lectures are sponsored by the Elkins Tres Board and KEC. Topics are: 4/23, “Stress, Strain and Trees; An Introduction to Tree Mechanics” by Ken Beezley, D&E. CELEBRATION: The Barbour County Writers are celebrating their 50th anniversary on April 24 at 7 p.m. at the 17 North Facility in Philippi. Readings by past and present members, music by Triffani Green, food and drink and a special tribute to Dr. Barbara Green who founded the group in 1975.  All are welcome.

USED BOOK SALE: The Friends of the Library will have a used book sale on April 24 to 26, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the old library, at 416 Davis Ave. Donations of books, games, and puzzles in good condition are needed and may be dropped off at the library on Apr. 12 and 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

APRIL  MEETING: of the Randolph County Association of Retired School Employees will be held Friday, April 25 at 12 noon at Tyrand Parish in Mill Creek. Lunch will be provided for a cost.  There will be a scholarship auction and donations of non-perishable items collected. Call 304-636-7649 no later than April 19. All retirees are welcome.

RAMP DINNER: American Legion Post 29 Auxiliary and Legion Riders will be hosting a ramp dinner on Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or sold out. Dinner consists of ham, brown beans, fried potatoes, cornbread, ramps (cooked and/or raw), dessert and drink. Eat in or carry out. Upstairs in Calain Hall (4th Street entrance at rear of building). RABIES CLINICS: Randolph County 4-H Rabies Clinics for small animals will be held at sites around Randolph County. On Saturday, April 26, clinics will be held in Harman at the Pioneer Memorial Public Library (9-11 a.m.) and Elkins Southern States (1-3 p.m.). There will be a cost for rabies vaccines for dogs and cats. Other vaccines will be offered upon availability from the veterinarians. REVIVAL: Revival at Elkins Church of the Brethren, 708 West Central Street, Elkins, Sunday, May 4 through Wednesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. each evening. Evangelist Leah Hileman will be leading the revival with special music by Joel Franks on Sunday evening, Jeremy and Jessie Wanless on Monday evening, the Chewnings on Tuesday evening, and the evangelist will provide the music on Wednesday evening. Everyone is invited to attend these special services.

TOPS 0590 MILL CREEK: meets at the Russell Memorial Library in Mill Creek every Wednesday. Weigh-in is from 10:30-10:45 a.m. Meeting following weigh in. For information contact Jane Robinson at 304 338-6403.
