YARD SALE FUNDRAISER: Washington District Community Club’s annual yard sale fundraiser will be today from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Washington District Volunteer Fire Company, 6338 Tallmansville Rd, Tallmansville. Glassware, household items, books, home decor, bedding, clothes, shoes, knick knacks, and much more. And the food, hotdogs, baked goods, popcorn, soda and water.
FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS RALLY: will be today at 5 p.m. outside the Randolph County Courthouse. The rally will be to protect American workers, public schools, public lands, waters, voting rights, due processes, veterans, social securities and freedoms. Please bring non-perishable food items for the Tyrand Food Bank. The event will be hosted by the Randolph County Dems and 50501.
CANCELED: Annual yard sale at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, beside Camp Pioneer, scheduled for Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3, has been canceled. New dates will be announced soon.
MEETING: The Kump Education Center will host its monthly First Friday: Focus on Education this Friday, May 2 at 4:30pm. Join us for an informal gathering to discuss basic education issues including safety, personnel, assessment, and funding in Randolph County.This event is free and open to the public. DINNER: The Whitmer Community Church will host a spaghetti dinner noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The menu will include spaghetti with homemade sauce, green beans, cole slaw, hot rolls and dessert. Eat in or Carry out available. For more information, call 304-227-4798 or 304-227-4260.
SPAGHETTI DINNER: The St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Coalton will host a Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. The dinner will be held in Parish Hall and is available for eat-in or carry-out. For more information call 304-546-6477.
SPIRITUAL RENEWAL: at Elkins Church of the Brethren, 708 West Central Street, Elkins, Sunday, May 4 through Wednesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. each evening. Evangelist Leah Hileman will be leading the spiritual renewal with special music by Joel Franks & Tiffany Franks on Sunday evening, the Chewnings on Monday and Tuesday evenings, and the evangelist Leah Hileman will lead a Gospel Sing on Wednesday evening. Everyone is invited to attend these special services.
OLD TIME MUSIC: Join in the first and third Mondays, 7-9 p.m. at The Arts Center in Elkins for an Old Time Music Session. Beginning musicians are encouraged to join in. WEDNESDAY PICKIN’: The weekly Wednesday jam sessions, sponsored by Augusta, are now taking place next-door at Armadillo Flats on Davis Avenue in Elkins. Country Music Jams are from 4:30-6:30 p.m., and Old-Time Jams are from 6:30-8:30 p.m. All levels are welcome, as well as singers and listeners. Look for entry signage (enter from C.J.
