Tractor Trailer Catches Fire

The Inter-Mountain photo by Kristi Groves First responders were dispatched to mile marker 18 along the westbound lanes of U.S. 33/48, near Buckhannon, at approximately 2:40 p.m. Tuesday afternoon after scrap metal and wire being hauled in the back of a tractor trailer caught fire, according to Cpl. V.J. Pyles of the West Virginia State Police. The driver noticed the fire and pulled off the roadway. No one was injured as a result of the incident, WVSP officials said. The West Virginia Division of Highways, Upshur County EMS, the Buckhannon Fire Department, and the Ellamore and Junior volunteer fire departments assisted at the scene.
