Woman killed in log accident

DURBIN — A Durbin woman lost her life Monday after a truck overturned and she was struck by the load of logs it was carrying, officials said.

Lyndsee Lee Lambert, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene after a 1999 International truck, being operated by Jeffrey E. Myers, of Rupert, overturned, according to a press release from the Marlinton Detachment of the West Virginia State Police.

Myers was traveling north on Route 92, near Bartow, carrying a load of logs, when he lost control of the vehicle, which overturned, and the truck’s load was unleashed, police said. The logs “spilled into a private driveway” and struck Lee, the press release states.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing and being conducted by Senior Trooper D.M. Brock and Trooper First Class R.A. Waid, both of the West Virginia State Police.
