ELKINS — The annual First United Methodist Church Women’s Fall Bazaar will offer a luncheon, country store and more this week.

From 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, a luncheon will be open to the public and feature potato soup, vegetable soup, hot dogs, pepperoni rolls, pulled pork sandwiches, ham salad, desserts and fruit cups.

Also on Thursday, the country store and baked good shop will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. These three attractions will also be open from 9 a.m. to noon Friday.

Mary Durham, First United Methodist Church women’s club president, explained the fundraiser helps them support the group’s different missions as well as allowing them to assist the community.

“We do it so that we can support our missions. We do it so if we have emergencies in the community we are able to contribute a little bit to the emergency funds,” Durham said. “We not only have local missions but we have international missions as well.”

Visitors to the bazaar will also have the opportunity to win a handmade quilt, done by women’s club member Donna Trulik, by making donations to the group for their mission projects.

Durham added the event provides food, fellowship and good deals in the country store.

“I think they get a very reasonably priced and delicious lunch, and a lot of them enjoy the fellowship,” Durham said. “There are also deals and steals in the country store.”
