Elkins Razes Former Water Treatment Plant

The Inter-Mountain photo by Brad Johnson The city of Elkins razed the old Elkins Water Works building on Baron Avenue Tuesday. The structure was built in 1921 and served as the city’s water plant until 2018, when the new $37-million water plant went online and began pumping water. The raw water intake building, still used by the city, is located near the razed structure.
