Three people were transported for medical treatment from the site of a house fire in the Norton area Tuesday evening. At approximately 6:15 p.m. the Coalton Volunteer Fire Department was alerted of the fire and sent a tanker and a fire engine to the scene within minutes. Firefighters found the two-story residence fully involved in flames, department officials said. Firefighters remained on the scene until approximately 9 p.m. Also responding to the scene were the Junior, Belington, Elkins and Ellamore fire departments, the Randolph County EMS, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and Randolph County Office of Emergency Management. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Coalton VFD and the West Virginia Fire Marshal’s office.
