Randolph BOE honors retirees

ELKINS — A number of Randolph County Schools employees were honored for their many years of service to students during Tuesday’s regular Board of Education meeting.

RCS Assistant Superintendent Debbie Schmidlen offered her thanks to each professional and service personnel employee who will be retiring at the end of the 2018-19 school year.

“You are near and dear to all of our hearts,” Schmidlen said. “It is nice to be able to look around and see all of the years of commitment and service that you have provided to Randolph County Schools, and it is a proud moment for Randolph County to be able to recognize each one of you.”

Retiring service personnel include Deborah Anderson, Wayne Lambert, Nancy Starr, Clara “Vernie” McNeal, Lora Mullenax, Merry Lou Vance and Billy Vandevender.

Retiring professional staff include Susan Mullennex, Sharon Gallogly, Tamora Casto, Leslie Louk, Linda Romine, Elwood Sites, Thomas Ditty, Randall Devores and Barbara Mergenthaler.

A special reception was held for retirees prior to Tuesday’s board meeting.
