Elkins man charged with felony counts

ELKINS– An Elkins man is facing felony charges after allegedly being caught using another man’s credit card by surveillance cameras.

Michael David Rollins, 30, is charged with four counts of fraudulent use of a credit card. Bond was set for $1,500 cash by Randolph County Magistrate Mike Dyer.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Patrolman R.A. Summerfield of the Elkins City Police, on May 21, the officer received a call from a man stating that someone had used his credit card. The report states that the man told Summerfield that his credit card company had contacted him with a fraud risk, additionally stating that the card had been used at both Walgreens and Speedway.

According to Summerfield, he identified the individual using the card as Rollins after watching footage from both Walgreens and Speedway. Summerfield stated that Rollins is seen using the card at times matching the credit card statement.

According to the report, the amount of money charged to the card totaled $193.05.
