Mill Creek woman charged with shoplifting

ELKINS — A Mill Creek woman is facing a felony charge after an alleged shoplifting incident.

Jennifer Fay Lambert, 32, is charged with third offense shoplifting. Her bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety by Randolph County Magistrate Judge Mike Dyer.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Corporal B.W. Cogar of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, the officer responded to a call on October second in reference to a shoplifting at the Elkins Walmart.

The report states that upon arrival, Cogar met with Loss Prevention Officer Ronald Davis who advised him that the suspect had left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival and that a male subject who was with the alleged offender had returned the stolen items.

According to Cogar, Davis also advised that the defendant had ordered cupcakes at the bakery prior to committing the shoplifting and that the order form had the name “Lambert” written on it.

“Mr. Davis had observed this female concealing items in the store. When the female subject was approached, she ran out of the store via the grocery exit,” said Cogar, additionally stating that the female subject was identified as Lambert.

The report states that after running Lambert’s name through the Walmart system, Davis found that Lambert an incident at the store on Feb. 17 resulted in a shoplifting 2 offense charge and that Lambert had been found guilty and convicted of that charge on March 2.

According to the report, the stolen items totaled $45.94.
