Free ‘shop’ day is planned

ELKINS — God’s Closet, sponsored by the Elkins Seventh-day Adventist Church, will host its 2019 Christmas free “shop” day extravaganza from 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the gymnasium of Highland Adventist School at 777 Kennedy St. (just down the road from North School.)

Parking will be at North School. Shoppers will be shuttled to the HAS gym by bus.

The God’s Closet program provides free new or gently used clothing, books, linens, and — for this event only — toys for children ages newborn through teen years.

There is no income or residency requirement — the event is open to all.

All items received from the program are to be used for individual family use, not for resale.

“Shoppers” will be asked to donate $1 toward program expenses and then will be issued bags to stuff full of all kinds of good things for their children.

For more information, the public is encouraged to visit the God’s Closet Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/GodsClosetElkins/. You can be in touch through Facebook messenger.
