Man charged with wanton endangerment

Perrine

ELKINS– A Huttonsville man is facing a felony charge after an alleged domestic dispute involving a gun.

Philip Richard Perrine, 53, is charged with wanton endangerment involving a firearm. Perrine’s bond was set at $35,000 by Randolph County Magistrate Judge Mike Dyer.

According to the criminal complaint filed by TFC. D.T. Stallings of the West Virginia State Police, on Feb, 16 at approximately 9:32 p.m., the officer received a complaint regarding a domestic dispute at a Beckys Creek Road near Huttonsville and made contact with the alleged victim at the Huttonsville Par-Mar.

The report states that the alleged victim told officers she had an ongoing dispute with her husband, Perrine, that had escalated earlier that day after Perrine returned to their residence.

The alleged victim advised that Perrine “began screaming at her and threw multiple objects across the house, shattering them during the argument,” the report states, additionally indicating that Perrine “became furious” and retrieved a pistol from a bedroom when she contacted 911 for assistance,

According to the complaint, the alleged victim then indicated that Perrine shoved and held her against the refrigerator while they were arguing and “fired approximately four shots into the floor, wall, and ceiling of the residence.”

The report states that the alleged victim stated she was able to flee from the residence, prompting Perrine to fire an additional gunshot from the residence as she was leaving in her vehicle.

According to the complaint, Stallings located four pistol casings and damages consistent with bullet impacts upon inspecting the residence.

If convicted, Perrine could be confined to one to five years in a penitentiary, or, in the discretion of the court, confined in the county jail for up to one year, or fined $250 to $2,500, or both confined and fined,
