ELKINS — A local RV and Powersports dealer was recently named number one in West Virginia sales.
According to Statistical Surveys, a Wisconsin-based company that tracks market history and trends, Roy’s RV Supercenter in Elkins was number one in overall sales in West Virginia during 2019, which includes travel trailer, fifth-wheel and folding trailer sales.
“We’re proud of the achievement,” said general manager Tim Senic. “We’re in Elkins and beating dealers in way bigger areas. So, it tells you a lot when people are coming from all over the state to our small community in Randolph County to buy from us.”
“We’re also thankful for the people right here in Randolph County that buy from us. We sell a lot into Randolph County, and we feel proud because the community and the state are putting a lot of faith in us to buy that many campers.”
Senic said planning and dedication to customers were key in achieving this accomplishment.
“We have to thank our customers for that because if the customers weren’t trusting us and weren’t loyal and we weren’t growing our business, we wouldn’t be in that position,” he said. “Really, it takes every one of the 30 employees here to do it — everyone here who’s pitched in and made sure that our customers left happy.”
“We can advertise all we want, but unless the people out in the community are willing to buy from you and send their friends and their families, we wouldn’t be number one.”
Though Roy’s is the exclusive West Virginia dealer for Grand Design and Mossy Oak and the largest Jayco dealer in the state, the dealership stocks 55 different lines of product, which include over 500 different available floor plans.
“I go to big RV shows at least a time or two a year, and some people will travel hours and hours to attend them because they get to see everything, and then I come back to our lot, and I think, ‘We can see the same things here.’ With 55 lines and over 500 floor plans, I don’t see much at a big RV show (…) than a person can see here,” said Senic.
Roy’s RV also features newly-renovated facilities and the largest service facility in the state.
“Our (servicemen) are sent every winter in case there’s anything new that’s come up to keep up to date on the new stuff that’s out there. So, customers shouldn’t have any concerns when they bring things to us. We’re up on it, we know what’s going on, and we can fix it,” he said.
Senic said the goals of the business moving forward are to continue to grow, add to the business, take care of customers and support the community.
